Dr. Kumar Venkataraman is an accomplished academician with a total teaching experience of 27 years and 8 months. He holds a Ph.D. in Technology with a focus on Knitting Technology, Knit Fabric Design, and Machine Design. He also holds a B.Tech and M.Tech in Textile Technology, as well as a Diploma in Textile Technology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Venkataraman has held several positions in the academic and industrial sectors. He has served as a Professor and Head of Textile Technology at RVS College of Engineering and Technology, as well as the Head of Fashion Technology at Angel College of Engineering and Technology. He has also worked as a Professor of Textile Engineering at Wolkite University in Ethiopia.
In addition to his academic experience, Dr. Venkataraman has also worked in the textile industry. He served as the General Manager of the Knits Innovation Lab at Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd., where he oversaw research and development efforts in the knits division. He has also held various affiliations, including heading the Industrial Service Division at NIFT-TEA Knitwear Fashion Institute in Tiruppur, Tamilnadu.
